Recruiting pediatric patients for type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) studies is extremely challenging. Patients are difficult to identify and often face socio-economic or domestic challenges that can prevent clinical trial participation. These trials typically exceed planned recruitment timelines by years, and previous programs for this sponsor were cancelled due to low enrollment. To mitigate these known study risks, PRA commissioned our Site Engagement team early in the study-planning phase to help sites develop customized recruitment initiatives to strictly maintain enrollment timelines.
